Building Your New Rochester Home: Is It Really What’s Inside That Counts?

Building-your-new-Rochester-home-is-it-really-whats-inside-that-countsWe’ve all heard it since we were kids: “It’s what’s inside that really counts!” Parents and teachers tried to help us look past the surface and consider character when we interacted with other people. But does the same approach hold true when you’re considering building a new home?

For most homeowners what’s on the outside is important too. We all want our houses to look nice and to be welcoming. After all, it’s the first impression people have of the place we call home. And down the road, if we decide to sell a home, the way it looks from the outside is a huge factor. But there’s a lot more involved than just “curb appeal.”

The outside of your house is also the first thing you see when you come home from a long day at work or running errands. It needs to welcome you—and hopefully it will also reflect a bit of your personality. And part of what makes life (and houses!) interesting is that there’s a lot of variety in what makes us who we are.

That’s why there are so many different styles of homes: Colonial, ranch style, cape homes, patio homes, and more. You should be able to pick a style that feels like home to you even when you’re outside the house. It’s one reason why checking out images of different styles of homes is important early in the homebuilding process.

Of course you won’t spend all of your time standing on the street admiring your beautiful new house! What’s inside really does matter, too. That’s where you and your family live and relax and retreat from the world outside.

The interior of your home should also reflect your personality—and your lifestyle. For some homeowners, entertaining is a big part of their lives. They want a floor plan that will let them do that. For others, having private sleeping rooms that are separated from all the action is important. And others want a home that features main level master bedroom living that will allow them to stay in their home for years to come.

That’s when it’s great to be able to check out a wide variety of different floor plans for the particular style of home you want.

So when it comes to choosing the right Rochester-area home for your family, you shouldn’t have to choose between a home you like on the exterior and one you like on the interior, because it matters what’s on the inside and what’s on the outside.

Outstanding Ontario Homes Begin With a Great Location—and Great Plans

Posted by John Graziose on Wed, Nov 5, 2014 @ 06:11 AM

Outstanding-Ontario-homes-begin-with-a-great-location-and-great-plansWe all know how important the right location is to building the custom home of our dreams. And if you’re looking to build in the Rochester area, Summer Lake in Ontario has it all. Located just 1.5 miles outside of Webster, you can enjoy beautiful views, take in the spectacular lake breezes, and enjoy the tranquility that comes with a large home site. All that is still conveniently located, just 10 minutes away from great shopping.

Of course location alone doesn’t guarantee you the home you’ve always dreamed of living in. You’ll want to match that with a floor plan that meets your family’s specific needs and lifestyle.

If you’re looking for a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with single-level living, the Bainbridge II provides that with 1,673 square feet of living space, an open floor plan, and even an optional fireplace in the large living room (with optional cathedral ceiling). Check out the floor plan here.

If you’re looking for a little more space in a two-story home, you might want to consider the Saratoga, which offers 3-4 upstairs bedrooms (including a master bedroom and adjoining master bath) plus a large bonus room on the same level. The main level features an open floor plan with kitchen, dining room, great room and a separate study. You’ll have plenty of room to spread out in this 2,059 to 2,599 (depending on your choices) square foot home. Take a closer look at the Saratoga floor plans here.

Your options don’t have to stop there. We have dozens of floor plans that you can review to make sure you end up with the one that’s right you’re your family. What’s more, is that every plan we offer can be customized to your wishes. And if you already have your own plan that you love, that’s no problem. Just bring us your plan and we’ll review it with you so that we can build your home the way you want it.

A great location is a great start for building the home of your dreams. Put that together with a great floor plan to create the home you’ve always wanted. We’d love to work together with you to make that happen!
